LAHORE
Bobby
Da Rapper's original plan was to launch an Hip Hop album followed by
some hip hop video, when he first opted to return to his native land
Pakistan back in 2003. However
Bobby found him self in a poverty ridden country that is on the top of the world news with a dying film industry and no hip hop elements. The first image that disturbed bobby was watching a small girl about three years old walking unattended on a dirt highways as overloaded trucks zoomed by everything in the third world was new to his eyes.
Bobby started collaborating with Pakistan artist and and getting more familiar with the music and media acts, he featured in videos and audio with famous Paksitan artist. And also participated in the first Rap Battle show on national television in Pakistan, as well as the first Desi Rapper from Pakistan to appear on the BBC Asian Network.
kistan pop Sensation Annie Khaild and DJ Ali Mustafa stopped by to show there support.
Although the idea of lunching a Hip Hop Album and become the first Pakistan Rapper with a proper hip hop video from Pakistan with western styles, was in Bobby's mind since 2003, with so much bomb blast, suffering and lack of hip hop producers or even minded people. Bobby could not see himself enjoying the fruits of hip hop in Pakistan so he put his music career to the side started engaging amongst the poor people, and started focusing on alleviating the root of the problem within communities thru his network.
Bobby took to the streets, slums and rural areas and started community engagements, reaching out to poor families and helping them become independent by any means thru the Hip Hop Society, a registered, non profit organization, which provides food clothing education, social services and most important the art of speaking out thru hip hop.
"A lot of rock and pop artist portray Pakistan as moderate or elite, and most often never touch on the problems of society in their music the reality is, the English speaking and moderates who enjoy things such as jazz, hip hop, rock, and people who attend lavish parties or live a moderate lifestyle in Pakistan are only a few, and about less than 15 percent, the 85 percent are the people that need help with advance education, empowerment and enlightenment", says Bobby.
"I rather shine where everyone is shining not be the single person or group shinning amongst people living in grief, misery and poverty with no one to help tackle there problems" , says Bobby.
The Hip Hop Society, registered Pakistan, first project would be free to promote tourism in a time Pakistan was shunned by the world. The plan was to get over sea Pakistani's to take interest in there own land.
Bobby started offering a free tour guiding service and even hosting provided that the guest commit some time to a charitable cause.
This worked well as travelers or tourist were eager to find a like minded guide in the region of Asia, the travelers would also joined Bobby as he visited different orphanages and went to spend time in communities and this lead to community engagements, just as Bobby Planned. This was a blessing for the people of the poor communities as those people were not blogger or internet users and were now in contact with someone Bobby introduced to them from the online world.
Bobby also started taking in troubled Pakistan American youth, providing counseling, guidance and sharing his own life experiences allowing the youth to rethink there life, and role in America and strive to be productive once again when they returned to USA.
"I understand the traps of America very well, and can relate to growing up as a Desi in the USA where most groups consist of Black whites or Hispanic leaving you singled out." says Bobby Da Rapper Bobby Da Rapper became the first Desi Rapper from Pakistan to be selected to provide some cameo's in hip hop style for a Professional Music Video, "Gul Sun La Sonyia" with Bhangra Artist Iffi K, shooting took place at Bally Studio Lahore, Produced by Raaj Production.
